Jane has worked with animals in a wide variety of educational and research settings, including the Schuylkill Valley Nature Center, The Philadelphia Zoo and the Jersey Wildlife Preservation Trust on the Isle of Jersey in the English Channel.

Jane is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, holding a BA degree in Animal Behavior from Arcadia University, a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Pennsylvania, and a second Master’s Degree in Psycho Educational Processes from Temple University.

Jane trained her own dogs for over 35 years, attending group classes and participating in competitions. Her dogs earned Canine Good Citizenship awards and her Rottweiler, Cowboy, and she earned a Companion Dog Obedience title.  This love of dogs and continuous learning pointed her way to becoming a dog trainer.

Jane is a a Certified Separation Anxiety Trainer, awarded through Malena DeMartini’s Separation Anxiety Certification Program, a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, awarded Certified Professional Dog Trainer through the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers, a member of the Pet Professional Guild and a member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants.  For 3 years she published, Beastly News, The Newsletter for Delaware Valley Dog Lovers.

Jane studied under Pat Miller, CPDT, CDBC, internationally known dog trainer and animal behaviorist.  She continuously attends seminars, conferences and classes to add more tools and up to date ideas to her training tool box.

For eight years, Jane owned and operated The Cottage Small Dog Daycare and Boarding Kennel.

Jane resides in Delaware County, PA with her spouse and her two rescue dogs, Ivy the Rottweiler and Buster the Chihuahua.
